“If you don’t like what others do to you, you should not do it to others either.”
This is what my parents told me when I was a child. Even now, as an adult, it is still the norm, and it is on this premise that we are able to live our daily lives. Even now, we still make mistakes, but it is necessary to avoid them as much as possible in order to have a confortable social life. To each person it may be somewhat different, but we all have common sense.
I don’t know how long human history has gone on, but we still haven’t overcome it. The civilization has developed through the accumulation of knowledge, however, the wisdom to overcome it tends to be neglected, and in that point, it does not seem to have developed at all. We are still savage.
Personally, I believe that meditation is the greatest wisdom of humankind and that compassion meditation, which cultivates the heart of compassion, is essential for every one.
